eBook Development | eBook Conversions

The eBook conversions we work on fall into three groups:

  1. Publishers and self-publishers of print books who want to convert them to eBook format.
  2. “Digital first” books—authors seeking to publish their manuscript as an eBook (Kindle, Nook, Sony, Apple, etc) before publishing in print.
  3. Businesses, associations and non-profit organizations that wish to repurpose or convert existing content–your website, PDF’s, white papers, Powerpoints or other formats–into an eBook. The eBook files can then be sold in one of the online eBookstores, posted on your website for free or paid download, or shared internally.

eBook Marketing | Account Management

eBook publishing is one of the easiest and most powerful ways to demonstrate demand for your ideas. It can also establish you or your organization as an authority and leading expert.

Marketing tools are essentially free. So what are the challenges?

Typically the challenges are finding the time or developing the experience necessary for successful online eBook retailing and marketing. Best practices are evolving rapidly and that’s where we come in.

For those that prefer self-sufficiency, we coach them through the learning curve. For those that prefer full support, we serve as their eBook agency managing projects and their account.

Informative Presentations and Seminars

It is nearly impossible for a week to go by without news about how eReading devices, tablets and eBooks are transforming reading and publishing as we know it. From J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore to business eBook publishing to Amazon’s Kindle and Apple’s dominance in mobile devices.

Change is impacting us in unforeseen ways and that means new opportunities as well.

We offer a look at these developments through the lens of our 30+ years in media and technology. It’s an entertaining, educational, and for some people a potentially profitable look at where things are now and where they may be going. Visit our Calendar for examples.

Workshops & Hands-on Training

Workshops are an excellent forum for learning the basic steps necessary to self-publish eBooks. We begin by understanding your group’s goals, needs and capabilities. Then we create and present a program to meet those goals. Topics include:

Document formatting and preparation, conversion and distribution options, pre-launch planning, researching and preparing metadata, digital rights management (DRM), pricing and marketing. We also share our insights and trends in the fast-moving world of eBook buying, usage and publishing.

A Word With You Press“All that crap your parents told you about the work ethic IS TRUE! David’s workshop will show you that if you follow through on his advice, and are willing to work at it, YOU WILL SELL YOUR WORK.” –Thornton Sully, Editor-in-Chief, A Word with You Press
