How do you respond to a “hot market”?

I just finished watching the Duke Blue Devils “upset” Butler and it reminded me of that period of time immediately following a major championship event when everyone wants to buy commemorative merchandise.  That’s called a “hot market” and the schools and their licensing partners are adept at maximizing those sales.

The key is to have everything ready–product designs, fulfillment, marketing, etc.–to leverage this limited-time window of opportunity.
